This is my prosthetic work for my Splicer costume, before adding all the extra blood spatter and dirt. Since the camera flash in the club-lighting didn't do me any favours (see: [link]) I wanted to show what it actually looked like a little better.

Aside from a small test-run the previous night, this was my first time using Gelatine, and I think it turned out really well. got a lot of "that's disgusting!" reactions at the party, which is exactly what I was going for!

Sweet! Did you cast it first and then apply it, or just build it up by hand on the body?

I built it up right on my arm, using cotton balls for volume on the big bubbly bits.

Thank you! I wasn't sure that gelatine would give me the results I wanted, but it worked out perfectly in the end!

You're very welcome! ;D I've heard of people using scar wax and other forms of materials for making gory effects, but I've never heard of using gelatine. That's something new that I just discovered from you, awesome technique! :iconilavplz:

There are lots of recipes available online, but what I used is just gelatine powder, glycerine and water. Different ratios create different consistencies.
